Coronation Property - The Paper mill Food

FOOD MADE SOCIAL

The unfolding and rebirth of Australia’s first Paper Mill into Western Sydney’s newest food destination.

Coronation Property in association with Karima Group engaged Handle to work with them on a project in a new offering for the people of Liverpool and Western Sydney. With the the on-going success of the ‘The Paper Mill Precinct’ Coronation Property were working on breathing life back into Australia’s first Paper Mill, in Liverpool.

The Paper Mill Food is Western Sydney's best new food destination. With four restaurants under one heritage saw-tooth roof on the banks of the Georges River in Liverpool at the heart of a new residential community created by Coronation Property.

The 570-seat space operated by hospitality specialists Karima Group honours the site's former life as an industrial mill with period features such as original brickwork and modern updates including a mosaic tile floor, Carrara marble and cast-iron sculpted to resemble 19th-century ovens.

Initially we began with market and location specific research looking at the demography and audience of the Liverpool area and further surrounds. Audience groups, market offerings and further background research was collected and presented. Understanding the business offerings and brand hierarchy was important as we began to create these brands.

Taking inspiration from the process, interiors and historical setting it was important to keep the brands and visual identity system clean, crisp and functional. These brands would be positioned across four eating options and on an extensive range of items.

Handle worked under the creative guidance of DS17 Interior Design who built 4 service offerings and together collaborated build a family of brands that sat under the one roof.

The visual identity centers around a minimalist approach letting the space, food and experience remain the focus. Keeping the brands visual similar was important as they where to be seen all together and at the same time had to have a personality which could hold its own.

Our involvement ranged from working directly with the suppliers from printers, packaging companies, sign-writers and interior design meant we were able to keep the communication clear and flowing to deliver our best.

Handle worked with many key suppliers and an ‘A-list’ team to bring to life this project.
