Symbiote started in 2009 as SilverStripe Australia. Over time Owen and Marcus focused on delivering high-quality solutions to specific segments of the market, and with the growing success of SilverStripe CMS, the timing was right to start with a fresh vision and drive the continued growth of the product and thus Symbiote was born.  Symbiote's focus is to excel in the work the love and to work with others who have complementary skills.

Symbiote are very proud of their history and look forward to building the next stage with the same pride and focus.

Symbiotes engineering teams specialise in the development and ongoing improvement of managed web solutions. Their goal is to work with other like-minded teams who share the same attention to detail.

Handle was engaged by the team to design their new identity, we took visual cues from the idea of maths "to the power of" along with two intersecting arrows. It was important that we reflected their high calibre of work and services. The new identity focuses on the power of process, with the typography system complementing the power of connection, relationships and colour.

The identity is bold, exciting and connected. It lends itself to the idea of collaboration between Symbiote and their partners.

The wordmark itself was extended to create a supporting graphic and background underpinning the interconnected shapes and colours to represent the process and relationships. Complementing the bold typography and interconnected shapes the colour palette that is used throughout print and digital applications is sharp and pops. The new branding was applied to stationery, digital presentations, marketing and promotional material, and a bespoke responsive website.
