NSW HEALTH WSLHD - Year in Review
Shaping Futures, Changing Lives
Handle Branding was engaged by the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) to create their Year in Review. The Year in Review highlights the past year and the plans for the future of healthcare in Western Sydney.
With a theme of Positive Change for 2019 we created ‘Shaping futures, Changing Lives’ connecting the cover. The design inspiration for the cover and use of colours initially came from the more recently completed Blacktown Hospital Atrium filled with coloured glass. We were then further inspired through the patchwork quilts often made and sold by community groups at the entrance of Hospitals which reference of a multi-faceted nature of services offered by the WSLHD.
Our engagement for this project was over the course of a 3-month period with content writers, designers, account managers working together with the WSLHD corporate communications team. Handle begun the project with a very stringent process allocating, flat plans, running sheets, contact lists and clear deadlines. This clear structure and management at the beginning of the project allowed for smooth project management and delivery. Our engagement with the WSLHD included copywriting, interviews, content curation, research, fact-checking, approvals, design delivery and project liaison.
The outcome is a colourful, bold and expressive formal report that was presented to the public and has been well received winning a silver in the 2020 GOV Design Awards.
